FREDERICTON – New Brunswick Community College (HÂþ») has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Study Abroad Canada to explore opportunities for collaboration in creating an English for Academic Purposes pathway as well as sharing HÂþ»’s expertise in Early Childhood Education; Long-Term Care and Personal Support Worker. The institutions will also explore exchange opportunities for faculty and learners.
“HÂþ» has set goals of welcoming significantly more learners over the next five years and building our capacity for growth,” said Mary Butler, HÂþ» Vice-President of Academic Development. “To achieve this, we must explore opportunities for new collaborations, such as this partnership with Study Abroad Canada, which will help HÂþ» to reach more learners.”
Through this MoU, HÂþ» and Study Abroad Canada Language Institute will explore collaboration in:
“Study Abroad Canada (SAC), an affiliated school of Sunrise Group, is dedicated to introducing and bringing Canada’s greatest education to emerging markets in the world,” said Xuan (Frank) Zhou, President of Sunrise Group and Chair of the Board of Study Abroad Canada. “This collaboration will leverage resources from SAC and HÂþ» in various sectors to capitalize on huge potential and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship in order to achieve shared goals.”
Butler said the MoU is particularly important as HÂþ» welcomes increased numbers of international students to the College.
“This year HÂþ» has doubled the number of international students attending our College,” said Butler. “This collaboration with Study Abroad Canada will help us continue to support the success of international students while also sharing HÂþ»’s expertise in early childhood education, long-term care and personal support internationally.”
