ADVISORY: Half-masting of flags for National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism

Flags at all HÂþ» locations will be lowered to half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, June 23, 2018, to mark the National Day of Remembrance of Victims of Terrorism. As buildings are closed for the weekend, flags will be lowered at the close of business on Friday, June 21 and remain at half-mast until business resumes on Monday, June 24.

The National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism is marked each year on the anniversary of the bombing of Air India Flight 182 off the coast of Ireland on June 23, 1985. This act of terrorism claimed 329 lives, including citizens of Canada, Britain, India and the United States.

The special day of recognition honours all victims of terrorist violence that have taken the lives of Canadians.
